Lazing around, near Shiribagilu
This time I went alone, by bike to Gundya, parked the bike at Maniunda,
climbed up to the railway track, and pitched tent. It was slightly drizzling now
and then, and sometimes it poured.
So not much shooting on Saturday. In the early hours of Sunday it again
poured very heavily, as it usually does in the Western Ghats. The rains belted
my tent, but I was glad that it stood the onslaught, while I snugly lay inside,
dozing.
By around 9AM on Sunday the skies cleared a bit for a couple of hours, and I
had some shooting practice. By noon I wrapped the tent and left. Starting from
Maniunda at 1PM, riding drenched through Shiradi Ghat as it again poured,
thereafter a very fast ride through Sakleshpur and Hassan saw me reach Bangalore
by 5.30PM.
I remember seeing Scarlet Minivets, Parakeets and heard the
Malabar Whistling Thrush's
sweet song once again on Sunday morning.
