A short picnic with colleagues at Cauvery Valley - 22 Nov 2003
Some of my colleagues asked me to arrange for a trek to any nearby place; I couldn't suggest anything better than the Sangam Muthathi route - for it was nearby(90km) and a picturesque spot. They wanted a one day trek; so I suggested that we walk upto Galibore(9km from Sangam) and return. I also included bird watching as a part of the trek, in order to keep it interesting, and avoid making the trek a boring walk.
As planned we left Bangalore at 4.30AM. We were 8 men, and had 4 motorbikes. Doing a slow ride, and breaking for tea at Kanakapura, we were at Sangam at 7AM. We trekked upto a point 2kms before Galibore, lunched, had a very pleasant siesta, and walked back reaching Sangam at 4pm. Thereafter, another slow ride and snacks at Kanakapura, we reached Bangalore at 8pm. I was pleased that everyone had a good day off, much different from their usual days in town.
