Near Hosur - 17 July 2004

The past week was a bit tight, and I badly wanted to go somewhere, away from Bangalore. For a long time, whenever I travelled NH 7, I always noticed good greenery, hilly forested terrain a little past Hosur, and I always wanted to go around this scrub jungle and see what is there.

So this Saturday I packed the camera, and off I went towards Hosur. Breakfast at Hosur Saravana Bhavan, and then 10kms past Hosur, parked the bike at a petrol station and walked into the scrub jungles adjacent to the highway. The ride was also a very pleasant one, for it was early morning, and the traffic is nil, and the weather, road and everything else was perfect and in place. What a day!

I spent the whole of the morning wandering through those small hills. By noon, I returned to Bangalore, after lunch at Hosur(again at Saravana Bhavan). Should mention that breakfast at Saravana Bhavan was really delicious. The poori, dosa, vada combination, with a perfect coffee to finish with, gives one's taste buds a treat.

I remember seeing:

  1. Bee eater - plenty of them
  2. Ashy Prinia
  3. Lesser Coucal
  4. Black Kite
